Eastern Connecticut Recorder Society
Welcoming all skill levels to share music and friendship.
About Us
The Eastern Connecticut Recorder Society, a chapter of the American Recorder Society brings together players from mid-beginner to advanced levels to share music, learn from professional coaches, and enjoy recorder and viola da gamba music.

Our Activities

We typically meet monthly on the second Saturday, with a break in July and August. Winter meetings, January and February, are Zoom only, and the rest of the meetings are hybrid (Zoom and in person), accommodating a regional membership and snowbirds. We hold an annual recital at our June meeting.

Our music director, Larry Zukof, directs many of our playing sessions, and enlists professional coaches throughout the year to lead fun and challenging sessions.

Note date and time change! Our next session is November 7, 2026, 9:30 am- 2:00 pm at the deKoven House of the Rockfall Foundation, 27 Washington Street in Middletown, CT. Session will be led by Daphna Mor. The title of the workshop is “Music of the Ottomans, the Jewish Diaspora and the Balkans”. Doors open at 9:00 am. Please arrive by 9:15, and playing starts at 9:30. Bring your own lunch. First-time players should register in advance with Phil at Membership@connrecorders.com . There is a $25 fee for nonmembers for this workshop.
